According to an article in the Chicago Tribune, Nick Swisher, Bobby Jenks, Toby Hall and John Danks of the Chicago White Sox colored their beards pink this week for Mother’s Day and to raise awareness of breast cancer.
They are not the only sports team to go pink. This weekend the New York Yankees will be using pink bats to celebrate Mother’s Day and raise awareness of breast cancer.
“Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, along with ABC’s “Good Morning America” anchors Robin Roberts, Diane Sawyer, Chris Cuomo and Sam Champion, have signed bats that are available to be bid on in the Major League Baseball Auctions Listings.

In 2006, The Louisville Slugger Company produced a limited supply of more than 400 pink baseball bats to be used by professional baseball players on Mother’s Day. Now you can purchase the same bat from DicksSportingGoods.com for $79.99.
